Seasons Station Activities
This station activity is designed to allow students to explore seasons! Students should already have a basic understanding of what causes seasons prior to this activity- it is used as reinforcement.
Station activities included:
Station 1: Students will label a seasons diagram.
Station 2: Students will graph seasonal temperatures at 2 locations. You will need to provide colored pencils.
Station 3: Students will read about a study linking health and personality traits to the season in which you were born.
Station 4: Students will complete a seasons interactive. You will need to provide a laptop with internet access.
Station 5: Students will compare direct vs indirect sunlight and relate it to seasonal changes. You will need a clipboard, laminated piece of graph paper (or slide into a plastic page protector), and a flashlight.
Station 6: Students will determine if the length of your shadow changes based on the season. You will need to provide a globe, a flashlight, and a small plastic toy.
Station 7: Students will answer questions about seasons on other planets in our solar system.
Station 8: Students will determine the dates of the solstice and equinox in both hemispheres.
Station 9: Students will identify ways in which plants and animals adapt to seasonal changes.
