Product Details

Teach students that cells are shaped a certain way for a reason! Goes through simple analogies using shoes (why do we wear flippers, cleats, rain boots, etc) and relate that concept to cells. Discuss why red blood cells are round and plant cells are square.

This lesson is a good introduction to a lab where students look at certain objects and describe why they are shaped to help them with a specific job. Be sure to follow up with the cell structure and function worksheets listed below!

Also included is a guided YouTube lesson that walks students through the powerpoint. Great for blended learning, flipped classroom models, or absent students.
