Product Details
How does the density of a star change as it moves from the main sequence to a black hole? In this activity students will measure the mass, volume, and density of a "black hole star" using a balloon and tin foil. They will pop their balloon (supernova!) and take calculations as the foil star compresses.
Materials needed for each group:
Balloon, tin foil, string and ruler (or flexible measuring tape), electronic scale, needle or dissecting probe (to pop the balloon) and a calculator.
Included in your purchase is an editable word document with teacher directions and answer key.
